Mayo Town to Launch Energy Master Plan

A launch event will take place at the Town Hall Theater in Westport on the evening of Thursday 22nd September next to mark the release of an energy master plan for the town.

A presentation on the plan will be given by energy consultant Ray McNally of Plan Energy, who was commissioned to create the plan by West SEC, Westport’s sustainable energy community, with funding provided by SEAI and supported by Westport Credit Union.

The energy master plan will chart a course for Westport to reduce its energy consumption in various areas, including the residential, commercial and transportation sectors.

A number of sustainable energy professionals and suppliers will also showcase their products and services at the event, including home insulation specialists, solar panel installers, e-bike retailers and car dealers. electrical.

Members of the public are encouraged to bring their energy bills with them for an in-person consultation with energy consultants on different options for saving energy in their home.

Westport Credit Union will also be available for people who want to know more about their green loans for energy retrofits and electric vehicles.

“We have all become aware recently of how much energy we use and how much it costs,” says Feena Kirrkamm of West SEC.

“This event will give people the opportunity to assess their options for reducing their energy and how it can be done as part of a community-wide effort.”

The Westport Energy Master Plan launch will take place between 5.30pm and 8pm with the presentation of the plan starting at 6pm

Admission to the event is free and no pre-booking is required.
